The YOGA PORTUGUESE CONFEDERATION and YOGA SÁMKHYA

In the Primordial times, more than 6.000 years ago, Yoga was called Sámkhya – there was only one Yoga (without compromising its power nor modern simplifications), preserved over the last millenniums in the Indian Himalayas, and with older vestiges in the Hindu Valley, taught by Manu/Rudra/Shiva, (it is assumed that it dates from between 9.500 and 11.500 years ago, according to the recent underwater discoveries in the Cambaia Gulf, the mythical city of Duarka, victim of the thaws and floods of the 2nd phase of the last Ice Age), and by the Powerful Oral Hindu Traditions, the Yoga Sámkhya (Shákta) - It is the OUTRIGHT YOGA – Applied Philosophy, contains and proposes two great aspects of the primordial Yoga:

1 – To Develop, in Harmony, the Human Being in an Exceptional way in all its positive aspects, keeping him on his natural state, Healthy and Happy, with solid base of Self Demand, anti-ego, and Fraternal, where the Path must always be in tune with the great end,

2 – To reach the Samádhi (Enlightenment) – Human and Cosmic Intellective Supreme Consciousness, through the constant work, on each Class - Mahá Sádhaná (with 12 Anga or parts) with its 13 Technical Disciplines:

1 – Dhyána/Samyama (Samádhi) – Meditation / until Illumination, through the control of the brain waves frequency;
2 – Pránáyáma - energetic and neuro-vegetative influence through respiratory Exercises;
3 – Ásana – psycho-bio-physical Positions;
4 – Yoganidrá - physical, emotional and mental relaxation Techniques;
5 - Kriyá - organic cleaning and Strengthening;
6 - Mantra - Domain of sounds, of vibration and Harmony; Kírtana – external sounds;
7 - Jápa Tala - rythmic concentrative Sounds;
8 – Jápa Shesha - continuous and Elevating Sounds;
9 - Bandha – muscular and neuro-endocrinal Enlivening;
10 - Yantra - concentrative Symbols for psychosomatic effect;
11 - Pújá - energetic Repayment;
12 - Mudrá - reflexive and energetic Gestures made with the hands;
13 - Mánasika - Mind process, will strengthening and projection of the conscience.

- and with its 7 Complementary Disciplines (total of 20) and Complementary Subjects (Sámkhya, Samskrta/Sanskrit, Chakra, Sat Sanga, Sat Chakra, Sháshtra, Great World Masters, Mauna, Nyása, Shákta, Nutrition, etc.), where the practical Philosopher will apply constantly in his daily life what he has learned in the ÁSHRAMA (place of practice) – the Philosophic TEMPLE of inner self-Development – with external impact. The Yoga Portuguese Confederation aims the Human Development, the welfare and the Happiness of the practitioners, and the perpetuation of the Noblest and most ancient of the theoretician-practical Philosophies; it has a strong Social Solidarity orientation (Department), Chorale/Orchestra (Omkára), An Amateur Theater Group (Máyá), an Advanced Yoga Demonstration Group (Pashupati), a Yoga for Children Department (Balaki - Ganesha), a Medical Research Department, a Psychology Department, a Youth Department and a International Relations Department. It has 5 Regional Structures (similar to the official Regional Coordination Commissions –CCRs, areas for Portugal); it has about a hundred Yoga Centers in more than 50 Towns and Cities from North to South of Portugal involving thousands of practitioners.

Together with its Founder it has promoted the only 5 Portuguese Yoga Congresses and more than fifty National Yoga Meetings in last the 30 years, and also the 1st Yoga Iberian Encounter 2007 – held in Spain, La Manga del Mar Menor, the 2nd Yoga Iberian Encounter 2008 – held in Spain, Santiago de Compostela; and the Yoga World Encounter 2008 held at Machu Picchu / Andes. It also organizes Philosophic Trips, from which we highlight in 2008 the tour through India, where the Yoga Portuguese Confederation President, the G. Master Jorge Veiga e Castro and his team of Yoga Teachers, was welcomed at Keivályadhama Yoga Institute, in Lonavala (the sole Yoga Entity in India, supported and acknowledged by the Indian Government), at Shivánanda Yoga Áshrama in rshikesh where he rendered homage to his Master Svámin Krshnánanda Jí (already in Mahá Samádhi) – the Director of this very high Worldwide Yoga Institution during the 70´s, the 80’s and the 90’s. On this visit through India, a Pujá to Shrí Svámin Chidánanda Sarasvati (one of the successors of the Great Master Shivánanda Sarasvati)was also included, on his Áshrama at Dhura Dun (slightly before this Worldwide Yoga Personality has departed to Mahá Samádhi). Furthermore, the visit included Puna’s meeting with Master Iyengar; the International Yoga Festival (rshikesh), organized by the Parmat Niketan Áshrama and Mount Abu at the Worldwide Headquarters of Brahma Kumaris, and also at Val Sad.

Sádhaná - The Yoga Portuguese Confederation prioritizes International Excellence in the preservation of the Noble and Ancient Primordial Yoga Sámkhya, as well as its teaching, where the chela (disciple) coexists always with the best of himself, in the Rája Sádhaná in 1h classes for beginners, and 2h - average level, Mahá Sádhaná - 3h and 4h – for advanced students, and Kundaliní Mahá Sádhaná - 5h, very advanced.

Formation – Also practicing Excellence in Teachers Training, World Specialist, at the Superior Yoga Degree (CESYO), where they learn “to see beyond the appearance”: 6 years – 4.500 hours of training, to graduate as Yoga Instructors; then 4 more years, a total of 10, to graduate as Yoga Professors, and 4 more years, in a total of 14 years, to graduate as Yoga Masters, academicals titles (not honorific), having already graduated hundreds of Yoga Teachers in Portugal – Exponential Factor of Human beings; the ALYO also delivers the curriculum title of “ Great International Yoga Master” to Yoga Masters with Accomplished Work, Path and Worldwide Active Involvement. The ALYO also edited Yoga didactic material (books, CD’s and videos/DVD's) of International quality.
